Maintenance Technician
SUMMARY
Perform a variety of electrical and mechanical tasks under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. Constructs, maintains, and repairs electrical power, lighting, and communication systems of buildings, factories, transportation equipment and production equipment by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems Install, maintain, troubleshoot,and repair equipment and systems such as (but not limited to) the following:

Packaging Line Lead
SUMMARY
The Packaging Line Lead Person is responsible for overseeing the Packaging Dehackers (temp laborers) to make sure the required tonnage into the jigs is maintained. They are responsible for setting up the labor required to operate the area they are assigned to (packaging, reblend, or tumbling).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
· Observe brick samples pulled from the cars
· Note possible defects to look for (color, distortion, cracks, chips, size, molding/setting defects, etc.)
· Compare color, texture, and coating, if used, to the approved standard
· Note all special instructions from supervisor, senior lead person, and quality control personnel
· Ensure that the dehackers are putting the brick into the jigs at the appropriate rate and pattern
· Make sure that the correct amount of paper and veneer is being placed in the jigs
· Assign someone to save the seconds brick when needed
· Assist with packing brick
· Make sure the correct number of random samples are collected from each car during the packaging process and placed on the Q.C. panels (The number of pieces varies depending on the type or size of the brick. This sampling is done to show the possible changes that may be taking place in the brick over the length of the entire run.)
· Maintain and wear required safety equipment (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection)
· Make sure the crew you are working with is wearing the appropriate safety equipment
· Watch for flashing red lights and assist with solving the problems they correspond to
· Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner
· Keep the work areas clean and organized
· Follow and support all company policies and procedures
· Consistently maintain and display a positive attitude in response to area problems and job duties
· Demonstrate self-initiative, good judgment, common sense and professional courtesy

· Make corrections to equipment as needed to maintain proper operation.

· Routinely check the kiln cars as they are moving through the plant (blocks, frames, bearings, etc…)

· Replacing kiln car end seals and insulation – once or twice a year (or as needed)
